Itinerary description

This is a fairly easy/moderate walk that leaves Platania following the South Pelion Trail towards Lafkos. A mixture of earth roads and footpaths. We pass by the country church at Agios Nikolaou and continue uphill towards Lafkos. After a while, we take an unmarked agricultural road to the right (the Lafkos paths continues uphill). Following this path, we continue uphill through olive groves and then descend to the monastery of Agios Spiridon. We then follow a signed path down the side of the monastery and descend downhill on a woodland path and through the cultivated area of Vodin. We start descending towards Platania on earth roads and eventually join the kalderimi path from Promyri to Platania. We follow this marked route back to Platania.

I have followed this trail  verified  View more

Due to GPS the route was easy to follow. Without it would have been quite tricky in some places. The route is very lonely - we met nobody during the three hours. Big thank you to the friends of the kalderimis. The path was partially freshly cleaned/cutted - great work! In the whole the route was very versatile and entertaining.

Great to see your review. It is so difficult to keep these routes open. We do what we can. The use of GPS is necessary because it is beyond our very limited volunteers
