Spectacular tour through the heavenly Bohinj Valley, Slovenia, home to Slovenia's largest permanent natural lake. We go to the center of Stara Fuzina, where there is the medieval church of Sant Pau, from there we take the beautiful toll road that goes up to Planina Blato through the middle of the forest, in the summer there is the option of going up - there with a free bus.
From Planina Blato begins the path that goes up to Planina Jezero where we are going, there are also the beginnings of many other routes. We go up the path surrounded by lush vegetation to the beautiful corner where the Koca na Planina pri Jezeru refuge is located, behind the refuge there is a lake. In this alpine valley there are also several shepherds' huts. An idyllic place that conveys a lot of peace.
After a short rest and taking many photos we continue to ascend towards Planina Dedno Polje at 1,560 m altitude, it is an old high mountain pasture area where many of the old shepherds' huts have been remodeled. In this place you have the feeling of being in another time, it feels calm and peaceful. In one of the cabins we see a Slovenian enjoying this idyllic setting. We also see an all-terrain vehicle, we don't know where it went.
So far the sun has shone, but the forecasts announced rain at this time and it seems that it is coming true, the sky is increasingly cloudier and blacker. We already hear thunder and see lightning, we decide to gear up for the rain. When we are at the highest part of the route, where there are few trees, it starts to rain quite hard and suddenly it hails with a lot of wind, we don't know where to take shelter. Luckily the hail lasted only a short time. Despite wearing raincoats we got wet, luckily the sun came out again. We go to Planina Visevnik, another pasture place with shepherd's huts, this one is very lively because one of the huts sells drinks. From here we descend to Planina Jezero, where there is now a multicolored spread of clothes and shoes that got wet during the storm. We eat some ganyips and continue towards Planina Blato. Halfway we have to stop because there is a big machine dragging trees in the middle of the passage. When they give us permission we pass and to the starting point. A fantastic route despite the storm that caught us.
