Itinerary description
This trail is for 90% official trail around Tyniec. I didn't make the full circle leaving less than a kilometer, as the road I switched to lead to the very center of the village where it was handy to catch up a taxi back to Krakow.
Benedictine Abbey is a must to visit, beautiful church and great views from the the terrace. On site it has a few shops, restaurant and civilized WC.
TERRAIN: very diverse - narrow and wide forest paths, asphalt roads, many hills which you have to climb or descent, civilization and wild forest parts come in turns.
SIGNS: plenty of signs, you need to follow white-green stripes which indicate the trail. There is another trail of white-red triangles with which the main trail coincides for some time. There are resting places along the way, as well as provisioning spots.
SEASON: can speak for summer only - the trail is nice in shady in forest parts and fully sun exposed in the village; too many mosquitoes in the forest, big and hungry, repellent is obligatory. After heavy rains some paths in the forest may become pretty muddy.
KIDS: fine for kids, especially having the Abbey on the way.
