Este trilho, breve e fácil de percorrer, desenrola-se sem declives relevantes, nas zonas altas do maciço da Serra Malagueta, no interior de uma floresta de árvores exóticas (fruto das re- florestações que neste lugar ocorreram a partir de 1928). Apesar da massiva reflorestação, ao longo do percurso encontra-se uma importante variedade de espécies vegetais endémi- cas, tanto a nível nacional como local. O percurso também proporciona vários pontos de vista deslumbrantes, principalmente nos dias de boa visibilidade, onde pode-se admirar o profundo vale da Ribeira Principal, toda a parte setentrional da ilha de Santiago, com a bela baía do Tarrafal e até a imponência do vulcão do Fogo. Para além de contemplar os panora- mas, durante o percurso é preciso ter atenção aos cânticos dos pássaros (endémicos ou não) que são comuns neste verdejante lugar e respirar e sentir o ar fresco e puro da montanha, proporcionando uma experiência que envolve todos os sentidos do visitante.

This trail, short and easy to hike, unrolls without relevant gradients, in the high zones of the Serra Malagueta massif, through a forest of exotic trees (result of the reforestation that oc- curred after 1928 in order to combat erosion, to recharge aquifers, and to provide firewood resources for the local populations). Despite the massive reforestation, along the way the route passes important varieties of endemic plant species. The route also provides various dazzling views, principally on clear days, when it’s possible to admire the profound valley of the canyon of Principal, the entire northern part of Santiago, such as the beautiful bay of Tarrafal until the imposing volcano of Fogo. Besides contemplating the landscapes, along the way it’s important to pay attention to the songs of the birds (both endemic and not), that populate the trees of this green place and breath and feel the fresh and pure air of the mountains, providing an experience that involve all the senses of visitors.
