Itinerary description
We hiked rather popular route in the park starting from Zlota Gora up to the cave Jaskinia Ciemna and back via newly rebuilt castle. However due to the wine fest en-route, which we decided to attend, we cut the trail shorter and didn't make it to the 2nd cave as hikers usually do.
Jaskinia Ciemna was closed unfortunately. But in case it is open, it seems that additional charges apply.
TERRAIN: forest paths of various types, narrow and wide, rocks and dirt in the 1st half of the route. In the 2nd - mostly asphalt roads. Quite easy ascents and descents, apart from climbing to the cave following the stairs.
SEASON: we were there on a rather hot day and despite a lot of shade on the trail up to the cave, it was still tiresome. The asphalt part has no shade up to the castle, but there are plenty after. Some parts nearby the river may become muddy after the rains as well as trail parts with rocks may become slippery.
SIGNS: plenty of various signs along the trail and at intersections. A few resting places. In the mid of the route there is a fish farm plus plenty of restaurants with local food and fish, as well as lodging possibilities.
KIDS: fine for kids of any walkable age, just assess the distance and elevation.
