Itinerary description
Day 1 of the "Pirin 2023" trek of the Athens Mounteneering Club (AMC).
From the Parking at the end of the paved road from Razlog (Waypont 1), we took the unpaved road, initial part of the Yellow path, which we left for the Blue Path at Intersection 1, initially as a path untill Intersection 2 and then as the unpaved path, which drives up to Yavorov Hut, passing a designated "Panorama" point with views to the Razlog plain and the Rila mountain range. At Intersection 3 we leave the road to take up the Yellow Path which ascends steadily allongside a beautifull cascading stream under the canopy of large pines (Photos at Waypoint 2). Passing a singpost at Waypoint 3 we takeup the right path at Intersection 4 which climbs with short zic-zag on a ridge, we cross the unpaved road at Intersection 5 to get to the old Yavorov Hut (closed) where there is a fountain, and shortly after to the new Yavorov Hut to eat and sleep for the night.
