Itinerary description

Beautiful and varied hike up tot Piper Pass meadow.

We took a shortcut (turning left off Elbow Pass Trail about a kilometre early) and bushwhacked for about two kilometres. I would recommend staying on the actual trail. It's a little bit longer in distance but not in time, the views are equally good and the trail is a lot easier to navigate. This is the way we came back.

Staying on the actual trail would make the hike about one to two kilometres longer and not a circular as Wikiloc says it is. I haven't found a way to change this in the description.

After reaching Piper Pass meadow some people continue up to Piper Pass which adds another hour or so. We decided that looking at it from our lunch spot in the meadow was good enough.

The elevation chart does something strange up to 4.5km. The right hand side of the elevation chart is more accurate.

Leaving the trail

Turn left off the path, into the meadow for the shortcut, creek crossings (wet feet), bush whacking (scratched up skin) and potentially not finding the trail back (in short, not recommended). Keep right and on the trail for a slightly longer but easier to follow route
