Itinerary description

Tracks start at the Cardiac Hill Auburn State Recreation Area gate on Maidu in Auburn and ends above Oregon Bar. These tracks and waypoints were logged in an effort to document the impact of a landowner that is marking his land and placing signage on the trail. The distance between waypoint 38 and 40 is .4-miles with 310-feet in elevation changes. There is no additional signage or property boundary posts past waypoint-38. The total distance is 1.1-miles with 800-feet in elevation change.

Please click on waypoints for more details and pictures including details on the sections of trails that cross the newly placed property boundaries. Waypoint-27 is the starting point for boundary stakes, waypoint-38 is the end.

Beginning of the signage and Private Property signs just below the PCWA canal. Picture #3 shows the perimeter of the fencing of the property owner. Quite surprisingly within two-days the landowner has built a small-pump house fed by the PCWA canal (picture added on 4/22).

Private property sign on one of the numerous side-trails in the area. Interesting to note that it's not a no-trespassing sign. One may conclude that the land owner is aware of possible easements and public right-of-ways to the historic mining trails that dot the area and is discouraging access.
