A not very demanding traverse that links different trails to join the General Sherman Tree sequoia with the Giant Forest Museum, crossing from north to south the Grant Forest Grove, passing through meadows such as Circle Meadow or Crescent Meadow and ascending to the top of Moro Rock, a 2,050m high granite rock monolith. We climb along a staggered path of 400 steps cut into the rock that take us to the top, where we will enjoy 360° views of the High Sierras and Central Valley. On the way to the final point of the crossing we will climb the Handing Rock and then we will start the descent to the Giant Forest Museum through a forest severely damaged by the recent fires.
We left the car in the parking lot of the Giant Forest Museum and traveled to the starting point of the route, General Sherman Tree, on the free internal buses provided by the park.
We start the route by following the Congress Trail, which allows us, in just over 3km in length, to get to know the Giant Forest (Giant Forest) in Sequoia National Park, one of the largest giant sequoia forests in the world, where 4 of the 5 largest trees are concentrated grains of the planet. Among them we find the famous General Sherman Tree, which with its trunk of more than 31m in circumference, its 2,200 years of age and its height of 64m, is the most voluminous living tree in the world.
They were also able to enjoy notable sequoias such as: The House, The Senate, The President or The Chief Sequoia.
