Itinerary description

Walk from Pouri to Makrinitsa. Start at the main road at the bus stop, here you may park your car. Next to taverna Makis a chaircase leads to the church and taverna Polydroso: this is the start of the walk. Keep the church on your right hand side, from there you’ll find red markings.
You pass the chapel of Profitis Ilias and then Agia Marina. After the Agia Marina you may go left into the woods on another marked route, BUT THIS LEADS INTO THE MILITARY AIRBASE ZONE WITHOUT A FENCE SO YOU’LL BE ARRESTED WITHOUT EVEN REALISING YOU’RE IN FORBIDDEN AREA!
So: follow the dirt road and the markings, red paint marks and yellow signs ‘Makrinitsa’.

The walk should take you about 7½ hours, no water on the way. (The track was recorded in two days because I got caught in the airbase zone and started again at the Agia Marina chapel.)
