Itinerary description
The alternate route on this trail is permanently closed, so the hike is straightforward. Park at Pico Arieiro and get a taxi to to Pico Ruivo. Can also be done as a return, but have to get a VERY early start. My 11 yo daughter came along for this one. Spectacular hike. Best in Madeira.
