Itinerary description
*How to Get There by Public Transport
You need to take 2 bus before you reach to Santo Tomas Ajusco.
1)From Universidad Metro station you should take bus to Six Flags. Ask the driver to let you know when arrives.
2)Exactly at the same point you are dropped off at you should look for the bus sign "Santo Tomas".
I recommend you to ask the driver to get off at the junction. When you look at the maps it's somewhere around "Liga del Madrid". Because the bus is going on left but you need to go to right.
After this point, you can call a taxi or hitchike like I did to Albergue Alpino Ajusco. Though it's not that easy.
*How's Like Cumbres del Ajusco ?
It's extremely a tiring hiking experience. Try to start your hike no later than 8 am to avoid sun.
The whole path is definitely 100% safe. Most of the path you will be alone. I only saw 2 people.
I just finished my trip just below Pico del Aguilar as I felt very exhausted and the time was getting late.
Overall, I definitely recommend this hike. It's tough but rewarding.
