Itinerary description

Don't pay atention to the times!! I upload the track just to share some information I find very useful :)

Total time from Pico Arieiro to Pico Ruivo about 3 hours with some breaks during the way. Veeeeeery beautiful sceneries.

---> Totally recommended: wake up very early to arrive at Pico Ariero 30min before sunrise time. Bring some breakfast with you and enjoy it while the sun rises up. Completely breathtaking 🧡

Pico Ruivo: there's a snacks & drinks bar here with WC and a drinkable water fountain available.

From Pico Ruivo to Achada do Teixeira: It takes only 30min, veeeeeery easy trekking.

** In Achada do Teixeira you can get a taxi!! **
Very useful if you don't feel like walking back to Pico Arieiro. We paid 60€ in total for the taxi. It takes ~ 1h by taxi back to Pico Ariero. If you improvise this option, you have to book the taxi at the snacks & drinks bar in Pico Ruivo.

It was a great solution for us since we spended more time than needed in the way from Pico Ariero to Ruivo because a guy of another group got dizzy and fainted, and we stayed there until he recovered. Also one of us felt too tired to keep walking.

** About the track **
It is very clear and very easy to follow; around 950 meters elevation; the way has some flat stages combined with others very vertical. I would say it is in global technically easy but physically moderate difficulty.

---> Important in summer to bring a lot of cold & iced water and different snacks to prevent dizziness and exhaustion!!!

Besides that, 100% recommended!! Enjoy a lot 💚
