You need good hiking fitness, body balancing skills on uneven rocks and trail navigation skills for this hike.
We few friends hiked up Jebel Yabana summit as our own Santa Hike for Christmas.
We started from Wadi Shah towards Helek village and further summitted Jebel Yabana.
We descended back to Wadi Shah via Takem village making our hike a loop trail.
One of most enduring hikes of my life.
Jebel Yabana is the 3rd highest mountain UAE at about 1500 meters elevation.
Most of the hike trail was 45 degrees gradient or more.
We parked and started the hike from Wadi Shah Bear Grylls base area.

Most of the initial trail is visible and goes through a scenic Wadi and has 2 steep sections that continue and reach the Helek village at the top. This part trail is full of rocks but the trail is visible.
The first half of the Ascent is sort of marked and with trail and arranged with steps until the Helek village.
The second half of the trail that is part of the Yabana section, both Ascent and Descent is full of Loose loose rocks, steep ascent / descent, Large sharp boulders and no trail whatsoever. You need to navigate through the rough area, so please carry hand gloves and wear full sleeve shirts/pants to protect yourself.
During descent we decided to hike via the Takem village and a beautifully laid trail with cemented stony steps. Even this Wadi is beautiful too.
Eventually the initial Ascent and Descent trails meet at the base and from there it is about 1.5 Kms from the Wadi Shah,
To be hiked with good fitness, preparation and caution.
You could also refer pictures and details from the previous 2021 hike recording as below.

We also got the opportunity to pose along with the UAE flag that was installed on 3rd November, the UAE flag day. The flag was torn this time.
There is a visitor book in the summit at the flag pole base, which you can sign
.
Long live UAE.
