Peyto Lake is located on the path of the Icefield Parkway and is within the Banff National Park, in the province of Alberta.

It is named in memory of Ebenezer William Peyto, a former guide and trapper in the area.
Once you arrive at the car park, there are two areas:

LOW ZONE. enabled for cars. If you travel with your car, it is in this car park where you should leave it.

HIGH ZONE, where there are places for reduced mobility, as well as for buses and caravans.

We left the car in the parking lot in the lower area and began to climb until we reached the second parking lot, from here we continued up until we reached the wooden platform from which we can see Peyto Lake, with its characteristic wolf shape and its brilliant glacial waters and Calderón Peak as the main peak, as well as other peaks that surround it.

One of the things that most attracts the attention of this fantastic lake is its bluish color, which is due to the fact that it is a lake of glacial origin.

There were a lot of people at this viewpoint, we continued along the path, we passed in front of an information panel about Lake Peyto and, taking a path that goes to the right, we passed through a forest that is not marked. Following this narrow trail, we can immediately see Peyto Lake (Banff Wolf)

The panoramic view being here, much better than the previous viewpoint. After taking many photos we decided to return to the parkin

If you travel along the Icefield Parkway to Banff, you cannot miss doing this little walk to Peyto Lake because it is a true wonder, one of the most beautiful views that can be seen, it is spectacular to contemplate the intense blue of the lake waters, surrounded by all the peaks that can be seen around it.

ENJOY!!!
