The Seven Rila Lakes are of glacial origin and are located between 2,100 and 2,500 meters above sea level.
The path starts near the Sette Laghi refuge from where you climb quite easily but, since it was a Sunday in August, there were really too many people and we walked one after the other. For those who like me to walk the paths almost in solitude was not the ideal condition to enjoy the beauty of these mountains.
After a few minutes you will arrive at the first panoramic point on the lake, the Trifoglio, so called for its irregular shape. Then go up towards the lake the Rene and the Occhio. The highest point of the hike is Ezeren vrah at an altitude of 2,528 meters. From here you should see all the lakes but I was on a bad weather day so the visibility was nil.
We descend past the other lakes to return to the starting point.
Length: about 8.3 km
Difficulty: E.
Time: about 3 hours and 15 minutes (excluding stops)
Difference in altitude: max altitude 2,538 m asl
