Itinerary description
This starts off being a very easy stroll from the entrance (free) along a man made path to a tunnel mouth, we saw elderly ladies with walking sticks managing this part. However at the tunnel mouth it all changes due to the tunnel being uneven, rocky, dark and wet especially if it rains as this is where the water runs off of the rock. There is a rope tied along the walls to assist you with the incline of this tunnel, the only light being from the open ends. Once outside it is a well worn uneven rock/gravel path that is steep in places but manageable all the way to the summit. Depending on the time of year, be prepared for aggressive nesting sea gulls and the heat, whilst at the top there are a number of feral cats, that will approach you especially if you have any tit bits available. We undertook this hike in late March 2012 but I have heard that it is now closed to the public for safety reasons, cannot guarantee that so possibly best to research hike before attending and attempting to undertake it.
