Itinerary description
This is a beautiful hike. I wasnt feeling 100% good so i decided to reverse hike my plan and start at the top!
Follow the flowered upper road to just past the Monkey Cup cafe where you will see a sign for Moniot trail. There are a few intersections i tried to mark with waypoints on the map. Moniot part is about 6km long of narrow single track with thick jungle. Lots of downed trees. A wildboar and I mutually terrified each other but otherwise it is peaceful and easy to follow. Eventually you connect with single track paved which is headed towards Tiger Hill. Then its "iron cross" intersection. No iron cross in sight though! 5 trails intersect here. You get on a wide paved trail headed down. Its a beautiful, tree covered descent to Air Itam Dam. Then you can stop there, or take a side trail all the way down to lower Kek Lok Si temple like i did. If you like tracking those rain guages, you will pass 29, 30 and 35 on this hike.
Enjoy!
