Itinerary description
Υπάρχουν δύο διαδρομές με καλντερίμι από Ζαγορά για Χορευτό. Η πρώτη (νοτιότερη) ξεκινάει από τον Άγιο Γεώργιο και περνά από τα Ψυγεία Ζαγορίν. Η άλλη (βορειότερη) περνάει από την εκκλησία της Μεταμόρφωσης (Σωτήρα), ξεκινώντας από το πρώην ξενοδοχείο Ανάσα πάνω στον κύριο δρόμο. Μπορούμε επίσης να κατεβούμε από τη μία και να ανεβούμε από την άλλη. Επειδή υπάρχουν πολλές αναφορές ότι το μονοπάτι είναι ακαθάριστο από βλάστηση, με αποτέλεσμα οι περιπατητές να δυσκολεύονται να το ακολοθήσουν, καλό είναι πριν ξεκινήσει κανείς να επικοινωνήσει με το δήμο Ζαγοράς (τηλ. 24263 50103) , ρωτώντας αν το μονοπάτι είναι καθαρισμένο. Another option is walk one way, have a swim at Horefto beach and return by bus (see timetables at: www.ktelvolou.gr). Duration one way 1,15-1,30', distance 3,2 km. Because of many reports that people had difficulty to find and follow the path due to overgrown vegetation (a chronic problem in Pelion), it is advisable to contact the Municipality of Zagora before setting off (tel. 24263 50103) , asking if the path has been cleaned. The trail starts ok and soon gets into a muddy unclean water path which we decided to abandon and find our way back to the car road.

Path has not been cleaned. Around the zagorin fridge storage unit, is almost impossible to get through. A bit after the zagorin is completely covered by dense vegetation. Had to abandon.
Ανεβήκαμε απο το Χορευτό στη Μεταμόρφωση. Το μονοπάτι πολύ ωραίο μέσα στη βλάστηση και καλό στίγμα.Σημειώνω οτι σε δύο σημεία έχει καθίζηση.Ο κόσμος που συναντήσαμε πολύ καλός. Κατεβαίνοντας προς Ζαγορίν επισημένω ότι μέσα στό ρέμα δεν υπάρχει αλλα με λίγο υπομονή το βρίσκεις και φθάνεις στα ψυγεία. Εκεί το στίγμα δεν είναι καλό μετά τον περίβολο. Αλλού δείχνουν τα σημάδια στον και αλλού το GPS . Πήγαμε μιά στροφή άσφαλτο ξαναβρηκαμε τα σημάδια και πάλι σε λιγα μέτρα ασυμφωνία σημαδιών και GPS.Προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα το μονοπάτι απο Μεταμόρφωση . Διαμονή στο Χορευτό θαυμάσια , με μόνο μελανό σημείο τα μαχαιροπήρουνα κεντρικής ταβέρνας που μας τα έφεραν αμελώς πλυμμένα .Το φαγητό της ταβέρνας πάρα πολύ καλό .

Impossible to follow the trail in both directions. Took us three hours to find a way out and finally took the highway. A real disappointment. Looks like the paths haven’t been cleared for years...
Update March 2021: Below the Zagorin site, there is a section of path blocked by vegetation and branches thrown. We have to follow its course walking next to it through an olive grove, until lower down we are able to join the proper path again. At the north section (Horefto to Metamorphosis (Sotira) church, there are three trees fallen down blocking the path, but you can walk past with some difficulty. Overall the route is doable -if you are prepared to overcome some difficulties.
Ενημέρωση Μάρτιος 2021: Πιο κάτω από τα ψυγεία Ζαγορίν ένα τμήμα του μονοπατιού είναι αδιάβατο από βλάστηση και πεταμένα κλαδιά. Το ακολουθούμε δίπλα του έχοντάς το δεξιά μας καθώς κατεβαίνουμε, βαδίζοντας μέσα σε ελαιώνα, μέχρι να το δούμε να ξαναγίνεται βατό λίγο παρακάτω. Στο τμήμα Χορευτό-Σωτήρα υπάρχουν τρία δέντρα πεσμένα που δυσκολεύουν αλλά μπορείς να περάσεις. Γενικά η διαδρομή είναι ανοικτή αλλά με κάποιες δυσκολίες.

Καναμε μονο τη διαδρομή από Ζαγορά για χορευτο. Όχι πολύ ευχαριστο μονοπάτι για πεζοπορία παρόλο που είναι σε πολύ τουριστικό μέρος και έχει πολύ ωραία θέα προς τη θάλασσα . Σε πολλά σημεία, λόγω εποχής τα χορταρια είναι τεράστια και όχι κομμένα με αποτέλεσμα να αμφιβάλεις αν πηγαίνεις στη σωστή πορεία. Σε δύο σημεία χαθήκαμε για λιγο διότι το μονοπάτι έχει κλείσει από βατα και το ψαχναμε. Επιβάλλεται να γίνει καθάρισμα από τους υπεύθυνους της περιοχής και επανασημανση για να μην κλείσει οριστικά.
Η διαδρομή από Χορευτό προς Ζαγορά μέσω ΖΑΓΟΡΙΝ είναι με πυκνή βλάστηση και είναι αδύνατο να βρεις τα σημάδια -επιστρέψαμε από τον ασφαλτόδρομο τελικά.
The path is blocked by vegetation and it in some sections is impossible to follow it. Do not upload paths that are not well signed and cleaned cause people get confused.
To Mr dkarakostis: If you want to follow a path, check the recording and upload date! This path was recorded in 2012 and must have been in good condition then, otherwise it would not have been recorded by the EOS! Also check the comments.
This particular path I've walked 4-5 times, finding it sometimes well cleared, sometimes a bit overgrown and I cleared it myself, and once completely overgrown. F.i. brambles grow 1½ meter per week, you can't help this.
