Itinerary description
Διαδρομή που μας φέρνει από τις Μηλιές στο χωριό Ξουρίχτι και τέλος στη θαυμάσια παραλία του Μυλοποτάμου. Το πρώτο μέρος είναι όπως στη διαδρομή Μηλιές-Τσαγκαράδα. Καθαρός χρόνος πορείας 4,5 ώρες, συνολικά με τις στάσεις 5.10΄. Σηματοδοτημένη με πινακίδες και κόκκινα σημάδια. Νερό θα βρούμε στο Ξουρίχτι. Προσοχή χρειάζεται στο τελευταίο κομμάτι κάτω από το νταμάρι, που έχει πολλές κινούμενες πλάκες μέσα στο μονοπάτι, να μη γλιστρήσουμε κατεβαίνοντας. Eπίσης το τελευταίο κομμάτι από την άσφαλτο και κάτω δεν έχει σκιά. Στο Μυλοπόταμο λειτουργεί ταβέρνα από το Πάσχα μέχρι τέλος Σεπτεμβρίου. Starting from Milies village square, this walk brings us down to the excellent beach of Milopotamos. (first section same as with the walk Milies-Tsagarada). Total time 5.10', walking time 4.30'. Signed with signs and red paint marks. Drinking water at Xourichti village square fountain. The taverna at Milοpotamos is open everyday from Easter to the end of September. No shadow below the main asphalt road (wear a hat, carry water in summer). Care must be applied on the last section of the path after the quarry, to avoid slipping on moving stones. Difficult
Until Xourichti quite easy; the fork from the path Milies-Tsangarada is recently cleared (2020) and I added some extra paint markings.
Past the Agii Pandes chapel the going was more difficult and after 260m I couldn't follow the track anymore: completely overgrown with all kinds of prickly shrubbery. I followed the path over the small old country road and came on the asphalt road at a building site, with a watchdog who luckily was friendly enough to let me pass.
After 340m I noticed on the left an old sign for Xourichti, but here also the path was very overgrown.
Leaving the asphalt road again on a gravel road I arrived at the old quarry. After the second quarry it became quite difficult as there was no real path and I just scrambled down the slope. Fortunately it was cloudy for the going was tough even without the sun burning on my head.
I'm an experienced hiker but this path I will not recommend!
