Itinerary description
A short but at times steep accent from Pego to the ruined castle. Which is sitting on top of the northern buttresses of the Sierra de Migdia, at a height of 264 m.
We started and finished at the Bar Verdala at (What three words - (starred.lawyers.nullify)).
Follow the Passeig Atzaneta to the end and turn left down the hill. After about 200mtr you will see on your right the map board and signage at the start of the walk.
The route is well marked with white and yellow painted way-markers on rocks/trees and sign posts. At the start you will be walking on a concrete road with villas either side, then you will see a sign directing you onto a narrow trail which is uneven and rocky underfoot. It will eventually join another concrete road and after about 200mtr, the signage will direct you off this road and up to the left, onto the trail again. Just follow this trail through the woods and scrub all the way to the castle.
One at the top, you will have great views of the surrounding area. Return to Pego via the same route and have a cold beer in the Bar.
