Itinerary description
[Updated 2023] Peb fort via Anandwadi (Tower route)
- How to reach Anandwadi: Get down at Neral railway station and take an auto to Anandwadi. Many autos are available outside station. They charge 40-50 rs per person.
- Route: The auto directly drops you at the route entrance. But do make sure with the locals. We lost our way towards the 2nd tower and ended up on the other side of fence. Once you enter the 2nd tower, the route from here is well marked with arrows. Make sure you are seeing the arrows here. I guess those were not present earlier. Arrows are present roughly at 20 mins interval. The col which joins from Nakhind ridge is your first landmark. Since it was very hot in March, we took bit of time to get here. Here on the route is straightforward towards the flag, cave and ladder. Carry plenty of water since there are no stalls yet here. We found 1 stall on the Matheran route. Only 1 stall!
Will recommend to ascend via this route and descend on the Matheran toy train route.
