Itinerary description
We did not plan this hike at all, just wanted to see the tongue of the Passu glacier closer while passing the Passu cones (Tupopdan) on the Kakakoram Highway, but as a result we end up taking a short hike.
The route is located in the Gojal Valley and it was a very pleasant place to hike in June crossing green fields with streams from the glassier. You will have an amazing view of the Passu cones and the Passu glacier.
The route is not difficult at all except a descend with multiple loose rocks (after P-10). This is the only reason why I put it as moderate. If you want to bypass a slope with loose rocks just follow a return track. You should also be ready to make your feet wet while passing area around P-15.
It should be noted that it is not a route along the glacier.
Parking.
We parked next to the Passu Bridge, Kakakoram Highway.
Gear.
The gear varies significantly depending on the season and weather conditions.
My trip was in the end of June with about 25C near Passu cones. I would say must-have items in June are the following:
1) Proper high-cut hiking shoes
2) 1 liter of water,
3) proper wind breaker,
4) sunscreen cream
