Mount Triglav is the iconic mountain of the Slovenians, not in vain its top with three trident-shaped peaks is on the Slovenian flag and there is also a saying in the country that says that every Slovenian must climb Triglav at least once in the life. It is located in the Triglav National Park, the only one in the country, within the Julian Alps, and it is a granite colossus 2,864 meters high and whose north wall is about 2,000 m. , one of the largest in Europe.
This beautiful tour begins at the Pericnik Waterfall, one of the largest in the country, with a fall of more than 50 m. After leaving the car in the vicinity we go up the forest track under a lush forest of mainly beech and fir trees. In the first clearings we begin to see the rock giants that accompany us until we reach a parking lot where we find a refuge with a bar on whose terrace we could have a beer and eat in an extraordinary place.

From here we decided to continue a little further until we reached the base of the north wall of the Triglav, where we stayed a bit contemplating the great rock wall. Deviating a little bit, we find some information panels about the rock formation and the different open climbing routes.
On our way back, we made a good part of the way back along a path that came out to the right at a signpost, and which was a very pleasant route in the shade of the trees and where we found some curious rock galleries excavated over time by the Triglavska Bistrika river. Later we return to the forest track until we reach the Pericnik waterfall, to whose foot we approached, taking advantage of the fact that there were much less people than in the morning when we arrived.
After this visit to the waterfall we finish this wonderful route through a great environment. For those who just want to go for a walk, in the area where the bar is located there is a parking lot with enough capacity and the track is in good condition.
