Very beautiful route through the jungle. Start on the track but after a while we get on trails.
They climb 5 "peaks" that call it.
It is not difficult but there are quite slippery downhill sections.
I forgot to connect the GPS and the first 600m are missing.
From Viet Hai village is a paved track and we did it on bicycles rented by the organizers.
They reserve a boat for the return to the port of Cat Ba.
According to what we have been told, it can not be done on your own.

If you negotiate a scooter ride from Cat Ba town to the entrance of the national park you will pay something like 100'000 dong (4 euros). The entrance to the park for adults is 80'000 dong (3 euros). The hike through the park is quite nice but the last part from Viet Hai village to the port is on asphalt. There is a local ferry leaving at 12:30 to Cat Ba town an the fare is 50'000 dong (2 euros). As a tourist you will be seated on the upper deck to enjoy the view over the islands. The upper deck is partially covered to protect from the sun and rain. There are 3 benches to sit on the upper deck. The ferry takes about 1 hr to bring you back to Cat Ba town and will make a very short stop on a local floating warehouse. By taping "Viet Hai local ferry" into Google before planing your trip you will find the most up to date information.
