Trail photos
Short but very beautiful stage, starting from Motovun, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Istria. It is perched on a hill almost 300m high. The panorama that can be admired from the town is magnificent, over the countryside as far as the sea and the forest full of truffles, the black gold of Motovun.
The architectural layout of the village is Venetian in style and various Marciani lions can be seen. The church of Santo Stefano was designed by Palladio. There are numerous noble buildings and it is pleasant to walk around its narrow streets.
Leaving Motovun behind, the Parenzana descends and then gradually climbs up through the woods towards Visinada, which can be reached via viaducts and with beautiful views of Motovun and the surrounding panorama.
There are no refreshment points so you need to bring a supply of water
