Itinerary description
This is an excellent medium length hike on countryside paths and woodland trails with a couple of short sections on quiet country lanes. The scenery is varied and part of the route follows the "Wysis Way" . (The Wysis Way is an 88 km (55 mi) walking route which forms a link between the Offa's Dyke Path and Thames Path national trails).
The walk starts and finishes in Painswick. I parked in Stamages Lane Car Park, from where if you walk up to the top of the car park there is a little passageway into the beautiful churchyard - the famous parish church of St. Mary which sits amongst 99 yew trees. Half way around, the route passes through the village of Sheepscombe, where refreshments may be taken at The Butcher's Arms Public House.

DO NOT go through this metal gate, instead go LEFT through small wooden gate into woods marked 'Daisy Way'
Ignore the detour going through the metal gate and back again - I went straight on in order to open 2 gates for a horse rider and then retraced my steps.
