Itinerary description
The Paine Circuit, also known as the O Circuit, is for bold trekkers searching for a truly entrancing Torres del Paine experience. On this 7-day endurance trekking and camping adventure, you’ll camp in remote areas and hike more than 100 km along one of the world’s classic trails, continually accompanied by granite mountains, countless glaciers, untamed weather, otherworldly lakes and spectacular views of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field.
We start and finish in Puerto Natales. If you are in Punta Arenas, you’ll need to take a private transfer or public bus to Puerto Natales (3 hours) the day before your trip begins. Your guide will brief you at 7 pm at our office in Puerto Natales. We bring porters to carry the group’s shared equipment (such as tents, food and cooking utensils). However, each guest must carry his or her personal belongings including their sleeping bag and camp mattress. The program ends at around 10 PM in Puerto Natales.
On day 1 we hike to the lookout point of the Towers. This is an 8 hour round trip, so you can leave your backpack at the campsite and hike with a daypack.
On day 2 we hike from the Towers base to Serón, trekking through a beech forests
On day 3 we hike from Serón to Dickson, accompanied by wildflowers and craggy peaks
On day 4 we hike from Dickson to Los Perros, alongside mountains, rivers and glaciers
On day 5 we hike from Los Perros to Grey via the famous John Gardner Pass. This is the most strenuous day of the Paine Circuit, bringing demanding trails and variable weather conditions but highly rewarded with some of Torres del Paine’s most heart-stirring landscapes.
On day 6 we hike from Grey to Paine Grande, optional activities (Kayaking or ice hike) at Grey Lake
On day 7 we trek to the French Valley and transfer back to Puerto Natales
