Itinerary description
Easy to get lost here - lots of trails and not much direction. At the first 4-way junction turn right, then follow main fire trail up steeply. There is a fork junction - turn left (“PP” is marked on the no horses sign). After a couple of kms there is a path off to the left with a SEQ water sign warning of rock climbing, this trail only takes you to the base of the pinnacle. Continue up the fire trail further and you will see a tree with “pinnacles” marked on it - it’s not obvious, so once you’ve passed the rock climb sign, keep an eye out on the left for the tree marking. Then follow the well worn trail to the beginning of the rocky ridge. There are nice enough views from here, or you can go all the way along to the end of the pinnacle where it starts to descend again, then return the same way. The rocks are steep and dangerous with sheer drops on either side at times, but for the most part you can take safer routes lower down in the shrubs and scramble up for a nice view.
