Walk the Pacific Crest Trail from Cabazón to Big Bear City, California. The Pacific Crest Trail is a trek through the mountains of the American West from the border with Mexico to the border with Canada, crossing three states, California, Oregon and Washington. The trail I took is a very small piece of it. It starts near the city of Cabazon, crosses San Gorgonio Wilderness, and ends in the city of Big Bear. The first day consisted of a short walk through the desert. On the second day I crossed the Whitewater River until I reached the Mission River, a very desert section, where the rivers are the only water points. The third day consisted essentially of a climb up the Mission River. The trail crosses the river several times. In fact, as the river was fuller than usual, and its flood had destroyed part of the trail, the reference was the river. The day starts in the desert and ends in the mountains at Mission Creek camp, with a much milder temperature. The fourth day was essentially a day of hiking at altitude, with no water points. The fifth day was a shorter day, to the Woodlands neighborhood in Big Bear City, where there was a bus stop with transportation to the city center.
