P9.02 - Controne - Vetta Monte della Nuda a Castelcivita

Il percorso parte nel caratteristico borgo di Controne, il punto di partenza è raggiungibile in macchina e all’interno del centro abitato è facile trovare parcheggi per la sosta.
Il primo tratto del percorso si sviluppa su strada sterrata facile da seguire e dopo circa un chilometro si arriva in prossimità delle Grotte di S. Elia. Dopo una doverosa sosta, proseguendo, si arriva nel tratto più complicato del sentiero, in cui è importante procedere con cautela; è infatti necessario oltrepassare un vallone per aggirare il costone della montagna.
Qui è facile perdere la linea del tracciato pertanto va posta particolare attenzione; superato questo punto il percorso prosegue in salita con un alternarsi di zone esposte e zone d’ombra al disotto della copertura vegetativa, fino ad arrivare sulla vetta del Monte della Nuda in cui è possibile godere di una vista particolarmente interessante.
Arrivati in vetta, l’escursionista può scegliere se proseguire verso Postiglione oppure tornare indietro e fare rientro al centro abitato di Controne.
Percorso per la maggior parte facile da seguire, individuare e ben segnalato. Si tratta comunque di un sentiero tutto in salita e con diverse zone esposte, pertanto è consigliato per escursionisti dotati di un’adeguata esperienza.

The route starts in the characteristic village of Controne, the starting point can be reached by car and within the town it is easy to find parking spaces.
The first stretch of the route is on an easy-to-follow dirt road and after about a kilometer you arrive near the Caves of S. Elia. After a necessary stop, continuing, you arrive at the most complicated section of the path, where it is important to proceed with caution; it is in fact necessary to go beyond a valley to get around the mountain ridge.
Here it is easy to lose the line of the route therefore particular attention must be paid; after this point the route continues uphill with an alternation of exposed areas and shaded areas below the vegetative cover, until reaching the summit of Monte della Nuda where it is possible to enjoy a particularly interesting view.
Once at the summit, the hiker can choose whether to continue towards Postiglione or turn back and return to the town of Controne.
For the most part, the route is easy to follow, locate and well signposted. However, it is an entirely uphill path with several exposed areas, therefore it is recommended for hikers with adequate experience.
