P20.02 - Sentiero del Soldato (Perito)

Si tratta di un percorso ad anello che parte dalla piazza del caratteristico borgo di Perito e passa per la frazione di Ostigliano da dove si può ammirare un bellissimo panorama sulla sottostante Diga dell’Alento.
Il punto di partenza è raggiungibile in macchina e nelle vicinanze è presente un parcheggio dove fermare le autovetture.
È un percorso turistico che attraversa aree boscate, zone agricole ed i borghi rispettivi di Perito ed Ostigliano. Non manca, inoltre, la possibilità di godere di viste panoramiche dei paesaggi circostanti.
Lungo il cammino, si incontra la segnaletica che indica la direzione da prendere per raggiungere la chiesetta della Madonna di Loreto. Si tramanda da generazioni che la chiesetta fu costruita da un soldato in fuga il quale venne travolto dall’Alento in piena. Il soldato quasi privo di sensi stava per annegare e invocò la Madonna, che lo graziò facendolo ritrovare a riva.
Percorso facile da seguire, individuare e ben segnalato.

This is a loop trail that starts from the square of the quaint village of Perito and passes through the hamlet of Ostigliano from where there is a beautiful view of the Alento Dam below.
The starting point can be reached by car, and there is a parking lot nearby where cars can stop.
It is a tourist route that passes through wooded areas, agricultural areas and the respective villages of Perito and Ostigliano. There is also no shortage of panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.
Along the way, you will encounter signs indicating the direction to take to reach the little church of Our Lady of Loreto. It has been handed down for generations that the little church was built by a fleeing soldier who was swept away by the rising Alento River. The nearly unconscious soldier was about to drown and invoked Our Lady, who pardoned him, causing him to be washed ashore.
Easy route to follow, locate and well-marked.
