P12.01 - Il sentiero della Seta (da Gioi a Stio)

Il sentiero, denominato della “Seta”, era in passato un mezzo di scambio economico, in particolare in occasione della millenaria Fiera della Croce che si tiene a Stio presso la Cappella di S. Maria della Croce. Il percorso è anche l’ideale per gli amanti dell’escursionismo e del trekking, non solo per ripercorrere un sentiero ma anche per scoprire la storia tra due comunità storiche del Cilento.
Attraversa aree a pascolo e boscate con panorama mozzafiato attraversando castagneti da frutto secolari di rara bellezza.
Percorso facile da seguire, individuare e ben segnalato.

The path, called the "Silk" path, was in the past a means of economic exchange, particularly during the thousand-year-old Fair of the Cross held in Stio at the Chapel of St. Mary of the Cross. The trail is also ideal for hikers and trekkers, not only to retrace a path but also to discover the history between two historic Cilento communities.
It crosses pasture and wooded areas with breathtaking views while passing through centuries-old chestnut groves of rare beauty.
Easy route to follow, identify and well-marked.
