Itinerary description
This was our second attempt at this. First time we went off the trail because people have built quite a few dirt roads up to grave sites— thus easy to get lost. This second time I followed open maps trail pretty closely.
Unfortunately, while there is some trail there, it’s pretty overgrown. Dressed in shorts would not be recommended. Also had a the baby carrier and baby with me, and it was too overgrown for that. That being said, anyone wishing to hike this using the starting route we took, make sure to pay attention to the open maps trail location as it’s pretty accurate and it’s pretty easy to get off trail.
Once reaching the signal tower, the trail disappears and is harder to see. But you’ll know you are on it as there are a trail of stumps. Prepare for dense tree and shrub tracking.
