Itinerary description
This is a beautiful circular road that links Oulton Broad with Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve.
There is a pay and display car park in the Nicholas Everitt Park, close to the broad. From there we head towards Lowestoft to see the Oulton Broad Swingbridge, which connects the lake with the north sea.
We then followed the path alongside the broad´s shore. Once we crossed a caravan park, we entered the Carlton Marshes. The trail heads towards the Waveney river following a series of well maintained tracks. After crossing the pumping station the trail continues left and it is supposed to connect with Carlton Marshes visitor center. Unfortunately the path was closed (May 2020) and we had to return using a different way. We heard that this was a temporary closure and was planned to reopen at some point in 2020.
