Itinerary description

English (castellano debajo):
We parked in the middle of the town next to the train rails and directly crossed them to start the climb. The path starts out strong and does not give much breath from the beginning. At one point you can cut off and go directly to Chapex-Lac, but we decided to go to Le Catogne - Le Bevédère where you will have very nice views of the lake from above. Of course, the difficulty is in the descent. Without being very technical, you will have to get your hands on the ground at least a couple of times and between the slope and the slippery ground with grit it takes longer than expected. I would say that going down is much heavier than going up.

From there you go directly to the town to go around the lake and start the climb following the signs. At some points the indications are not the best, so you have to follow direction Arpette, and the bisse (canal) to get to Relais d'Arpette.

When you arrive at the Relais d'Arpette, you can stop to taste the famous blueberry pie. Once past, we will head through the Arpette valley (valley that is controlled by Pro Natura and that is made up of rare plants); We will cross the forest and arrive on a track to the cable car at the top. There is a shortcut on the left that is not very well signposted (a black alpine trail sign) that will be purely through the forest without going up the track (where trotinets and bicycles go down).

The return is done along a path especially known by children from 8 to 12 years old. To participate, simply stop by the Tourist Office to pick up the Charlotte brochure (trail map and questions). At the end of the route, in a place called La Valpilière, overlooking Orsières, you will find all the answers to her questions, along with a little culinary surprise.

Technically, it is a simple descent without much slope, also known as the "mushroom road" and it will take just over 2 hours.

Castellano:
