Itinerary description
This is an easy hike and a great option for fairly flat but scenic walk in Namadgi National park. There are options to make it longer.
I had previously done the walk from the tracking station to the homestead, which is also flat and easy and has heaps of kangaroos, but this is better. Why? There is more variety with both a bush section and an open grassy section, and it has a beautiful stream, which I don't remember on the other walk.
We didn't actually walk to the homestead or old wool shed and building ruins, as I had been before and there was thunder rumbling in the air and we wanted to get out of the open area before any serious storms arrived, rather than be exposed in such an open spot.
We saw a couple of red necked wallabies and heaps of eastern grey kangaroos - but no snakes. I'm happy with that!
There are some swampy sections to walk through - fine in February, perhaps less so at other times of year...
When you finish the walk follow the signs to the waterholes and go dip your feet in the water - or maybe your whole body - beautiful!
Enjoy the walk :)
