Itinerary description
Very overgrown and need gps assistance initially but becomes easier to follow after passing the turn off to the border track on the left at eastern end of the walk. This first section is possibly closed. I walked the well maintained section to the border track and returned to continue on to Lyrebird Lookout and the track visibility is improved for the remainder. We ran out of time so from Moonlight Crag we followed the Red Road to the Wishing Tree/Mick's Tower track and on back to O'Reilly's. A better option with more time would be to continue from Moonlight Crag Lookout along the bush track to Balancing Rock and Castle Crag and then return via the Red Road to the villas or go via the Wishing Tree and Mick's Tower to Rainforest Retreat area. This bushwalk was longer and more tiring than first expected due to the initial slow going but had rewarding sites along the way.
