Itinerary description

Hike to the coast on the way south to Dhofar. Interesting landscape if not dramatic. Long stretches of sandy beach and cliffs. Take enough water for the 4 hours it takes. Unfortunately, this hike is also a depressing reminder that even in sparsely populated coastal regions the seaside is littered with plastic of all types. When will WE get it together and get to grips with this catastrophe, which is not impending but here right now? Tragedy.

Hi...can you post some more details like the summit (if at all) and the views about this hike? And did you really see wolves during this trip?

Hello there! Wolves? No wolves here buddy, as I know of. I think you're commenting on the wrong hike?!

Dhofar, yes, but that's a different hike 500 KMs south, on the Samnah Plateau. There's lots of wildlife there.

Oops.. I guess I have mixed both the hikes up. I was actually referring to the one in Jebel Samhan.

Thought so. You need to ask permission to go there apparently as it's, a 'protected zone'. But where the boundaries are isn't at all clear. Someone from the authorities saw wikiloc and they messaged me to tell me. So be careful! But approaching from the north there are no peaks to speak of. It's a plateau with lots of water courses running through making shallow valleys. Approached from the south it's impenetrable. The explorer steve bickshaw did a program on it. He obviously got permission! It might be on youtube.
