Itinerary description
This very pleasant and extremely varied walk wil initially take you to Castillo de Real, a fortress situated at a heighth of 574m. and seemingly impregnable, dating back to the Muslim Era, used for the defense of northern Valencia against the attacks of Aragon.
The ruins of this castle will dominate and characterize the walk for a great part. The walk towards it is along a wide track that goes gently up. Coming at the base of the last climb, at 530 m., a steep but not too difficult track will take you up to the castle ruins. The view is superb.
Back at the junction we followed a narrow track which first descends to 460m., a very beautiful part of the walk through the trees with regular glimpses of the castle and the hill tops towards the north west. Eventually the track will go up to 540 metres at which point you will come upon a broad track overlooking a majestically situated valley dominated by olive groves and a seemingly abondoned hamlet to the north.
This wide track will take you to this hamlet which you will leave after you pass the last house on a narrow track that descends into the gully. This too is a beautiful part of the walk. You will arise from the gully at a point where you have already been and then go up again to the broad track which you will follow now to a junction at a coll at 570m.
From there the track remains broad and descends gradually apart from the last 100 metres to the coll de Sentig.
From the coll de Sentig to the parking place you will be faced with some spectacular scenery.
