Itinerary description
A wonderful loop trail in a magnificent forest leading to the lookout tower on top of old speck mountain (1263 a.s.l.). I started with the eyebrow trail which climbs very steeply and with the installed aids (pegs and a wire) to a nice viewpoint on the side of the mountain. From there take the Appalachian trail up to the peak. Take care as the trail is pretty steep and wet (especially on the way to eyebrow), thats the reason I rated it diffucult. On top the view is block by the trees but you can climb to the lookout tower. The ladder leading there is a bit scary and the room on top is narrow but the views worth it. Climb down to the TH on the appalachian trail.
