Itinerary description
A beautiful day for a hike. This is my first hike in Virginia and it was a perfect time of year with the leaves changing color.
The cost was $1 per person. We paid online on a website. We went on a Thursday arriving around 11am and there were still some parking spots available. I imagine it might be busy on the weekend.
My mom, cousin, and I completed it in about 7 hours at a nice pace. Highly recommend this trail but make sure you are physically and mentally prepared for it. It’s not very technical but there are some rock scramble sections that require caution and good foot placement and body movement. Also, some parts are slippery so avoid the rocky parts when it is rainy or icy.
Good luck and enjoy the incredible nature!
