Itinerary description
Goris is an old town in Armenia located near Vararak river Վարարակ գետ (Vorotan՛s stream).
The town surrounded by mountains is considered to be the heart of mountainous Syunik. province. Old Goris is famous as a hiking place for its caves, ''piramides' and view from hills.
The route is very easy and beautiful, the only thing I've had cringe while hiking was polluted areas on the way,
In the middle you'll have a stunning view of Goris from the hill.
The length - 2.50 km.
Best Season - from the end of March till June (from the end of June it's too hot there).
The town consists of 2 parts - The Old Goris formed about in and Goris, they are next to each other, it's like a village and town in one place. To reach the Old Goris you should pass through new one. There is also 19yh century church on the way.
There is an also OLD GORIS LOOP trail in my trails section, which is a classic blazed trail in this area.
