Blue eye. Nderlysaj. Albanian Alps. Albanian
Theth and Nderlysa are the most beautiful and isolated villages in the Cursed Mountains (Prokletije), which is why in recent years they have become destinations for outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world.
The "Blue Eye" (Syri i Kalter) is a must see and one of the most popular walks, although the trail is not fully signposted. It is a karstic spring fed by an underground source, as well as a mountain stream that flows from the Kapreja valley. The riverbed at the trailhead at Nderlysa are popular swimming spots.
From Nderlysa it is only 400 m to the ruined school, where you can park your car. We have beautiful views over the river basin and the glacial mills. Two makeshift cafes opened here in 2012, offering refreshments.
Instead of crossing the bridge keep to the right hand side of the river, cross the gravel field and follow the bridle path. Go through the small canyon until you descend again towards the Syri i Kalter. From the highest point you can already see Martin's house on the left (just above Ojo Azul) and some others further up that form the Lower Kapreja hamlet.
On the descent, the first left turn leads to Martin's house, the second to the "Eye". You need to cross the river and then stay on a narrow path to the right with a small climb.
If you get to the river don't worry, there is a second access route. You will have to cross the river by jumping from rock to rock or using a tree trunk as a bridge. Walk to the left after crossing the bridge, do not follow the wider path to the right.
Cross a small stream and turn left, the path on the right along the water channel leads to the beautiful upper village of Kapreja.
One-way walking time for this route is around 1 hour, but plan to spend more time so you can fully enjoy the various sights. Keep in mind that temperatures can get quite high in the valley during the summer, so start early.

Unos 4 metros ... El agua a 8 grados aproximadamente
