Itinerary description
Lots of parking places when you reach the lake.
The start was a little bit slow (pace wise) as a result of the majestic Lago Di Braies. Amazing place to be.
Following 3 km from the start, leave the lake and take your left towards Grunwald Alm trail 19. We walked for 1.5 km along a dried river bed till we reached the Malga Foresta Hut where we had our first stop and a nice cold beer.
Just after the hut, take your right on the wooden bridge and continue along the river bed. Keep following trail 19 direction Hochalpe Malga and always look for the red and white signs.
You will pass by cedars tree on your way to the most iconic place, the Utia fojadora. The place is super amazing! a small restaurant and around couple of huts for the cows, chicken, goats...
Follow the trail uphill and keep on following the red and white lines with the number 6.
At around 11 km from the starting point look for the wooden pole and follow trail 61 leading you to Hochalpenkopf Peak.
For the next 3.5 km the hike will be full of panoramic views.
We decided to skip Hochalpenkopf Peak, as it needed an additional 40 min ascent and it was getting late and the rain precipitation getting high.
On your way, you will pass by a wall made of stones... From there you will have a breathtaking view over the valley, the mountains, the forests and part of Lago Di Braies.
Here you will start your downhill, it is a bit tricky but manageable.
You will enjoy it for sure...
I would rate if difficult based on the distance of the hike...
