Starting early from the parking lot where we made our base, I walk the asphalted road for about 2 km, which separates me from the beginning of the actual path, in Kongsvoll. At the entrance, several signs warn about the danger of oxen. You pass the stream, a gate and climb into the grove for half an hour. Out of the woods, at the crossroads, I decide to go straight, while the park signs give possible sightings of the Musk Ox on the right and left path. At that point the itinerary flattens out and one proceeds among solemn landscapes and the calls of the golden plovers, for another couple of hours, up to a kind of small farm. Nearby, I finally see them! A group of about ten males, females and babies. After many photos, and some indecision (where my track gets twisted!) I decide to continue further driven by curiosity, but then, given the heat and the substantial monotony of the tundra landscape (I am also without trail maps), I decide that it is time to go back. At the crossroads I turn right and with a wide circle I am at the parking lot.
