POINT OF DEPARTURE: Departs from Buck's Inn, which is a pub, of Chop Gate.
HOW TO GET THERE: I went by public transport, the bus number and timetables depend on the day of the week and the time. On Sunday of summer I left from the Middlesbrough bus station with the M2 bus leaving at 8:55 in the direction of Guisborough. In Guisborough I took the M4 bus that leaves at 9:25. Be careful because the M2 arrives at 9:20, so you only have 5 minutes for the change and if you do not change I think there are no more buses to Chop Gate until 12:39. You will arrive at Chop Gate at 10:10 and stop in front of the pub. To get back the same I took the M4 bus from 5:55 PM. And then in Guisborough the M2 is caught again and if it does not give time the X93 in the direction of Middlesbrough. There is a daily ticket called moors rover that is worth 9 pounds which should be a saving on the purchase of individual tickets.
WHY TO DO IT:
Almost all the time you can see panoramic views of all the valleys and its characteristic heather that gives a purple tone when it is in bloom. Particularly noteworthy are the views when you reach Wainstones walk, especially on the side of Middlesbrough. With a little attention you can see Roseberry Topping and with even more you can also see Cook's monument.
DIFFICULTIES:
Apart from the length and the accumulated ascent, the road itself is easy, there are parts in stone.
SERVICES:
Basically at the start, we have the bus stop and the pub.
