Itinerary description

I uploaded this route because I haven't seen recent routes which include the fencing along the private property lines that appeared in 2022. It's straightforward to hike out to Ravine Fall and Phantom Fall. However, to get to Beatson Fall it's now more complicated because the trail that followed the creek on private land, and the boundary with the Ecological Reserve is fenced it off and signage posted. The route indicated in this posting doesn't trespass on private land, but it's more complicated go around the fencing and get back to the old trail where it reappears from private land.

The northeast corner of the fencing

In 2022 fencing around private property was put in place. This picture shows the rock support at the northeast corner of the property. The trail separates at this point with one trail going west along the fence and another going in a northerly direction.

The first part of the trail goes over two small hills some of which have awkward footing and the trails have not be well worn in.

Creek crossing at fence opening

There are a couple openings in the fence. Perhaps people made openings in the fence so that they could go over to the old trail, but then they would be trespassing.

Northwest corner of fence

This is where the trail gets a bit sketchy. This is the northwest corner of the fenced in portion of the property. Because many people have walked over the area along the fence boundaries that runs east-west it's possible to see that trails are becoming established. Far fewer people have been using this area and the trail at times is barely noticeable. However, with good observation you can see where people have walked previously and you can make your way southwest along and down the hillside to a more established trail on the other side of a creek. Depending on the amount of water flow crossing the creek can be an issue.

We stopped at the outlook above Ravine Fall before returning to the parking lot. You can't see Ravine Fall from here, but you can see the creeks that feed into the fall and you can hear the fall. There's been plenty of rain this spring so the creeks were flowing. That's not always the case.
