Itinerary description
A very fun hike/scramble up the southeast face of North Peak, starting from Saddlebag Lake. Some of the most picturesque lakes in the area, surrounded by beautiful white granite. The route is decent, not very loose or sandy, for the most part. The upper part is a fun scramble, though not terribly difficult. Our route also toured most of the Conness Lakes, each with a differing amount of glacial silt in them. A great day out in the mountains, a highly recommended hike!

That hike looks fantastic! Thank you very much for posting it. And I'm already dreaming about hiking to North Peak.
It really is one of the best areas in the Sierra (though it's hard to qualify that!). The Conness Lakes area is so amazing, it definitely ranks top 3 of all the places I've been.
