Itinerary description
This loop is actually 9.1km. Unfortunately my phone turn the app off twice.
Take the Holly Hut track until the turn off to Maketawa hut. Follow this slowly climbing through tussock to Tahurangi Lodge. Then head down past the TV tower onto the Puffer. There is a public toilet at the TV tower. Turn off the Puffer at the sign for Maketawa Hut. From the hut you are back in the bush all the way back to the North Egmont visitor centre. From the hut back has lots of roots and ladders to negotiate.
